Blockchain gaming company Immutable has secured 181 new game partnerships in 2024, marking 71% year-on-year growth while recording significant increases in platform activity across its ecosystem.

According to a Messari report released November 14, the company's gaming-focused zkEVM (zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) platform maintained growth for a third consecutive quarter, with daily active addresses rising 80% to 267,000 and daily transactions increasing 80.5% to 595,000.

On Immutable X, the company's NFT trading platform, daily transactions surged 414.8% to 1.1 million in Q3. However, NFT trading showed mixed results, with daily buyers dropping 74% to 587 users and sales volume declining 9.6% to $506,000. The platform processes transactions using StarkWare's technology, enabling up to 9,000 operations per second with zero minting fees.

Developer Tools and Seamless Gaming

On November 14, Immutable integrated Sequence's wallet technology into its Passport service, which reached 2.5 million users in the third quarter. The partnership allows game developers to embed customizable wallet interfaces and marketplace functions directly into their games through the Immutable Builder portal.

Developers can now access advanced analytics to measure user acquisition, retention, and monetization while managing wallet implementations through a low-code interface. The integration also supports Sequence's in-game marketplace technology, enabling native trading systems without external redirects.

Three days earlier, the company launched Pre-Approved Transactions for Unity and Unreal game clients, enabling in-game asset transfers without requiring players to approve each blockchain transaction or exit the game. This ensures a seamless experience that is more in line with Web2 gaming.

While web-based games still require traditional wallet confirmations, the feature allows desktop and mobile games to process trades, crafting, and upgrades without interrupting gameplay.

"We've eliminated the need for disruptive out-of-game signing and confirmation screens, paving the way for advanced features like in-game marketplaces, in-game item trading, and crafting. This development springs from our fundamental belief: blockchain technology should enhance gaming experiences and brings Web3 closer to a Web2 experience."

Netmarble Leads Publisher Migration to zkEVM

South Korean publisher Netmarble recently moved its MARBLEX platform and three active games to Immutable's zkEVM network, supported by a $20 million developer fund.

In 2024, Immutable attracted 33 games migrating from other blockchain networks, bringing its total signed games to over 400.

The platform's recent game launches have shown significant user engagement: Immortal Rising 2, developed by Planetarium Labs and Bad Beans studio, secured over 500,000 pre-registrations before its September launch. The new title Raven Quest generated 1.2 million Twitch views in its first nine days, becoming the most-watched Web3 game on the streaming platform during that period.

The company has also secured a nomination for Best Web3 Gaming Chain at the upcoming GAM3 Awards 2024, where it is a Gold Sponsor.
