Almost immediately after President Donald Trump's second swearing-in, a series of lawsuits targeted the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by tech billionaire Elon Musk.

These legal challenges, spearheaded by ethics watchdogs and a union coalition, accuse DOGE of flouting governance standards and lack of transparency.

The lawsuit filed by Public Citizen law group, State Democracy Defenders Fund, and American Federation of Government Employees is concerned about risk of private interests being advanced in the federal decision-making process.

They also question the word 'department' in the name of the agency. "Despite the name, DOGE is not and was never intended to be a department of the United States government", otherwise it should have been established by the Congress with leadership confirmed by the Senate.

😀
Elon Musk selected the name DOGE with reference to the meme coin DOGE that is believed associated with him.

Amidst claims of Musk's domineering management and Vivek Ramaswamy's expected departure for Ohio's gubernatorial race, these lawsuits underscore serious concerns about DOGE's secretive practices and accountability.

Doge coin logo appeared briefly on the newly launched landing page of the antibureaucracy agency. At the time of the writing the logo was already removed.
