On election night, Polymarket became the "information market" it set out to be rather than the betting platform it often appears to be. "You are the media now," wrote Elon Musk.

The betting odds on the platform indicate a much higher probability of Trump’s victory than traditional polls. A French whale might be responsible for pushing the market odds.

Ahead of the presidential elections and aided by new technologies, political betting is at an all-time high. However, due to regulatory concerns, the market, which some argue produces very relevant information for the public, has struggled to establish itself.

The prediction market giant racked up record trading volumes in August, and is now on Bloomberg Terminal. But can it survive once the election betting frenzy is over?
