Chainalysis, a crypto analytics company, announced in a blog post on September 8 that it has helped the US government recover around $30 million stolen from a play-to-earn crypto game Axie Infinity earlier this year. Erin Plante, senior director of investigations at Chainalysis, said in the post that this event “marks the first time ever that cryptocurrency stolen by a North Korean hacking group has been seized, and we’re confident it won’t be the last”.
